Box Score

SCORING

-The Braves put runners on the corners in the bottom of the first thanks to a lead off walk and single off of JNT starter Keegan Pulford-Thorpe (Newmarket, ON) before an RBI ground out brought in the game’s first run.

-The Braves would add to the lead in the second taking advantage of a bases loaded to situation to score on a fielder’s choice before a successful double-steal with runners on the corners put them in front by three.

-The juniors got on the scoreboard in the third and it was Jaden Brown (Mississauga, ON) who lined a triple to right and scored when Raphaël Pelletier (Mascouche, QC) bounced out to shortstop.

-Pulford-Thorpe came back out for the fourth inning and allowed a lead off triple that would later score on a passed ball.

-The Braves added a run in the seventh using a two-base error followed by a double to left off reliever Eli Saul (Vancouver, BC) to go up 5-1.

-Gavin Pringle (Duncan, BC) took over for Saul in the eighth with runners on first and second and two out before allowing a single to load the bases before a base-hit to right field plated two more Braves’ runs.

QUICK HITS

-Starter Keegan Pulford-Thorpe allowed just one earned run over his outing that spanned 4.2 innings. The lefthander managed four strikeouts while allowing two hits and four walks.

-After homering yesterday against Stetson University, Owen Diodati (Niagara Falls, ON) followed up with a 2-for-3 game at the plate that included a double in the second inning.

-Three of the Junior National Team’s five hits were of the extra-base variety with Dasan Brown and Jaden Brown hitting triples in addition to Diodati’s double.
